best washer dryer wirecutter: Trump-endorsed Matt Van Epps wins GOP primary for vacant House seat in Tennessee
Best washer dryer wirecutter: Trump-endorsed Matt Van Epps wins GOP primary for vacant House seat in Tennessee. President Trump is putting his thumbs up if you’re here in Tennessee for the 7th Congressional race in a big way. He came out in the Republican primary today to endorse former state General Services Commissioner Matt Van Epps. It’s a special election for the seat.
That was vacated in July when Congressman Mark Greene resigned again. Today’s president’s endorsement could turn the race into a packed Republican field that includes two city lawmakers, Geno.
Balso and Judy Barrett. State Rep. Lee Reeves dropped out of the race today after learning of Trump’s endorsement. Now he does, too.
Matt Van Epps’ endorsement is among the other GOP contenders hunting for the nomination.
Adolph Deacon. Early voting in the 7th District race now ends tomorrow. The primary day here is Tuesday.
Wirecutter's best washer and dryer: Trump-backed candidate wins crowded GOP primary in battle for vacant House seat:
Nearby counties, Fox 17News Karen Aguilar joins us live at the polling place in Davidson County to tell us why this race is so important here. Karen, a political science professor, tells me.
This race is important because after the December general election, we could see a wave of change in Congress. Either candidate will advance Trump’s agenda or fight against it. As you can see behind me, there are a couple of voters here who are casting their ballots, recognizing the importance of this race.
Although the Davidson County Election Commission tells me voter turnout is low on Tuesday, voters are heading to the polls for the special primary, narrowing the field in the Tennessee 7th District congressional race to replace the retiring congressman.
Mark Green.
This year, Green announced his resignation in June and resigned in July, citing a fractured Congress. Lipscomb University professor
Mark Schwartz told me that whoever takes the seat could be the tiebreaker in congressional matters.
The former congressman who resigned his seat is a key figure in that the overall balance between Democrats and Republicans is very tight. Schwartz told me that the two big issues are immigration and the economy. But ultimately, he tells me.
It all boils down to whether voters support or oppose President Trump. Schwartz added that the GOP candidates mostly support his agenda.
While Democrats are tightly united against the president, there will be a winner on each side of the aisle before the final election. Polling ends at 7 p.m. The general election is today.
Wire cutter washer dryer: Trump-backed Van Epps and Democrat Behn win Tennessee primaries for US House special election:
Wire cutter washer dryer: Here in Tennessee, it's election night, as thousands of people are voting in the District 7 congressional primary. And now we know the candidates who will face off in the December general election.
Fox 17 Newshope Solomon joins us live in Clarksville, where both winners, Matt Van Epps and Ashton Bay, held their watch parties tonight. The room is packed as friends and family celebrate Van Epps' victory.
The 7th Congressional District straddles Tennessee's border with Kentucky and Alabama, a deep red region that former Rep. Mark Greene has held since 2018. Now, Matt Van is running for the Republican Party.
And thanks to the thousands of conservative patriots in this district who showed up and trusted, and voted for DECRA. Moving forward in the congressional race. Because of the work we have done, I am very satisfied with the fact that we have run a fantastic campaign.
Best treadmill consumer reports: Trump looms over Tennessee special election in a deep-red House district:
Best treadmill consumer reports: Essential workers, so they're still on the job even though they're not getting paid. Tonight, the Texas National Guard is on the ground here in Illinois. This comes after President Trump ordered troops to the Chicago area to protect federal agents here. The troops are at the Army Reserve Center in the southwest suburb of Elwood, about 50 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. And that's where NBC5's Lexi Sutter is for tonight. She joins us live. And Lexi.
Just tell us, what are you watching today?
Allison? I've had my eye on the facility all day. I've probably seen a dozen soldiers hanging out, and just recently saw some fencing along the adjacent parking lot. So not a ton of activity, but definitely a lot more activity than usual. I want to go up to Air to Helicopter Five, so you can get a feel for what the ground is like on this base.
I spoke to a woman who drives by here often. She doesn’t live far away, and she says she usually sees cars parked in the parking lot. But today there are several semis. The semis have almost blocked the street,
So we don’t have a good view of the parking lot anymore. But I can tell you already that the parking lot is full of supplies and the crews are building what we believe to be temporary barracks.
It seems that no local officials have been formally notified of the Guard’s arrival here. Will county leaders say they’re not looking up? And here’s what Governor Pritzker had to say. Just in the last hour. Today, we saw the Texas National Guard arrive.
They’re not on the streets of Chicago. Again, I’m not getting any information directly from the government or the National Guard. They’re federalized, so I’m not getting any information from them either. And so we're just getting reports that they're federal facilities.
Now, as for the White House, President Trump said, if Illinois blocks this deployment in court, he could invoke the Insurrection Act. Now, what is that Insurrection Act? It's a 1800s law that allows the military to act in uncertain circumstances.
Now, it's worth noting that no president has invoked that law since the 1992 Los Angeles riots. Play a lottery here and see, Alicen and Stephen. For now, I'll turn you back.
Lg washer dryer reliability: Candidates make their case ahead of Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District special election
lg washer dryer reliability Screen. Police are also investigating. Early voting in a special election in Tennessee is less than a month away and could change the balance of power in Washington. Republican Mark Greene resigned last month, leaving his party's congressional seat.
Flip that seat. Republicans, of course, want to hold on to it. NewsChannel Five's Ben Hall is talking to all the candidates ahead of the primary. There are 11 Republicans and 4 Democrats competing in their primary.
We invite them all to join us this week on Inside Politics as we hear from the only woman running for office who has never held office and the youngest candidate we've ever sent out.
And that's why I'm dying. Republican candidate Mason Foley, 28, joins a slew of other candidates who have come to Inside Politics to make their case for why they should represent the 7th district's vice president. The Democratic and Republican primaries are coming up soon in September.
On the 17th, the left has done a great job reaching out to young Americans. And I think it’s time to build on the progress that President Trump has made for this ridiculous generation. It’s time to solidify that one in 11 Republicans is running for office, while the entire Congress is running for office.
We also heard from State Rep. AFTON BAIN. One of 4 Democrats in his primary. You must have a candidate who already has a national profile who can raise enough money. And to mobilize across the country to mobilize those votes by then.
Newswires, says her high profile will help her win the general election. She believes in a Republican-leaning district for a change. Lack of affordability. Also, this big, ugly bill is being passed,
which would represent the largest transfer of wealth in American history and have a devastating impact on Tennessee. Our final guest this week is Republican businessman Stewart Cooper. Different because I am a non-elected official. I am not an ACAREER politician.
Cooper volunteered for the Williamson County Republican Party and strongly supported
President Trump. Many of his Republican primary opponents serve in the Tennessee House of Representatives. Just don't think so.
The best candidate for the position as state senator is not sure that both the state house and Congress will work. You can watch the full interview. We'll highlight 3 more candidates.
